A Message From The F.A.N.S. President:

I would like to thank the members, coordinators and performers who are volunteering at this year's Multicultural Festival. I appreciate all the hard work everyone has been doing in preparation for this event.

I look forward to welcoming back Folklorico Filipino Canada at this year's festival. A total of 21 performers will be arriving on this Friday. The following is part of a message from Bobby Gabat of Folklorico, addressed to our members:

"On behalf of Folklorico Filipino Canada, the administrators, performing artists and staff ... we thank you all and looking forward to meet up with you personally and the members of your organization in Halifax on June 17th. It is our chance to regroup and rekindle once again our friendship that was initiated 8 years ago."

Hope all our members are able to attend and enjoy the Multicultural Festival. There will be a POTLUCK AND MEET AND GREET with the Folklorico Filipino Canada to be held from about 8 pm to 11 pm Sunday evening at the home of Victor and Linda Unite. All members are welcome.

On a sidenote, t
he F.A.N.S. Hoops Basketball has seen a very good turnout over the last month. Special thanks to Romy Aquino (Chairperson of the Sports Committee) for organizing this activity. Great job!

Sincerely,

Gerald Bermundo
President

21st ANNUAL MULTICULTURAL FESTIVAL

I would like to take this opportunity to offer a warm welcome to Folklorico Filipino Canada, who will be the headlining performers at this year’s Multicultural Festival, which is held annually at Alderney Landing on the Dartmouth Waterfront.

Gates open this Friday June 17th at 5:00 pm, and the festivities come to an end on Sunday June 19th from 5:00 pm to 7:00pm.

As usual, FANS will be represented by three booths; a food booth, an outdoor BBQ booth, and an exhibit booth featuring authentic merchandise from the Philippines, which is also for sale to the public.

Folklorico can be seen onstage performing during the following times:
Friday June 17th at the opening ceremonies, between 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm
Saturday June 18th between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm
Sunday June 19th between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm, and during the closing ceremonies,
between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

*Please note: Our own FANS youth dancers will also be performing at the festival on Sunday June 19th between 2:00 pm and 5:00pm!

To further show our appreciation for coming to help represent the Philippines, a post-festival potluck/meet and greet with Folklorico Filipino Canada is going to be held on Sunday evening following the closing of the festival from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Please see Jocelyn Croox, FANS Public Relations Officer, for event location.

To our members, we hope that you get the opportunity to see the culmination of the association’s hard work, by supporting all of our booths, and coming out to see our young performers of the association, as well as Folklorico, who have come a long way to enhance the Philippine experience for the East Coast.

Once again, to Folklorico Filipino Canada, we extend our sincerest thanks and hope that you enjoy your stay here in Nova Scotia!
