FANS Retro (Costume) Night One more event to look forward to is the FANS Retro (Costume) Night; A night to listen and groove on our music of 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. Bring out your funky fashion style on this fun nite. It will happen sometime in October. Will let you know of the specifics once we get all the plans together.

FANS Pacifico Night There will be a FANS Pacifico Night out on Aug. 28. The first one was such a success; we decided to bring it back! This time do not miss the beat and it’s your last chance to let loose of the summer heat!

Tickets $10.00 for FANS members and $15.00 for non members. Includes cover charge and 2 drinks

NEXT COURT HEARINGFor those interested, the next court hearing will be on June 17th, 1800hr, at the Small Claims Court (Spring Garden Rd.).

PHILIPPINE CONSULATE’S VISIT TO HALIFAXThe Philippine Embassy based in Ottawa will visit Halifax on June 27 (Saturday) to process passport renewal applications. It will be held at the Melville Lodge Nursing Home, Multipurpose Hall (50 Shoreham Lane—Herring Cove), from 0830-1700hr. Please be informed that prior to their visit, applications must be submitted to their office in Ottawa by June 19th via courier. On their visit here in Halifax, staff from the embassy will fingerprint and check original documents for the said applications. Note that PERSONAL APPEARANCE is a must. Furthermore, please be aware that they will NOT honor applications on site.

MULTICULTURAL FESTIVALThe 25th Anniversary of the Multicultural Festival is on June 26-28 at the Alderney Landing, Dartmouth. Check out www.multifest.ca for more info. The Association will participate in the celebration by doing dance performances headed by the Cultural and Heritage Committee chair, Mr. Hector Mantolino.

CANADA DAY CELEBRATION (Pinoy Style)Our annual Lechon Piknik Canada Day Celebration will be at the Dingle Park, 1200hr. In case the weather forecast will call for rain, venue will be diverted to St. John the Baptist Parish Hall (Purcell’s Cove).

Don’t forget to bring food for our community table.
